Fun is over, time for work

Andruw_1It was fun, but it’s over now. Time to really get ready for the season. We got in our two games, got the chance to see a country I never thought I would ever see. We didn’t have a lot of time, but it’s something I’ll never forget. I didn’t do as much as a lot of other guys. Last night, I didn’t leave the hotel. I went to the lobby and bought a drink for everybody and shut it down. I don’t miss on getting my sleep. I was out of the hotel at 7:30 this morning, got to the clubhouse early and started stretching. I think this trip will be good for baseball in China. The fans, they still don’t know the game. They cheer on foul balls and stuff, but I think if they can get a Chinese player in the Major Leagues, that will really make a difference here. It would be an explosion, if they ever got somebody like an Ichiro or a Matsui. But this was good for them to see a Major League game, even a Spring Training game. Next time, maybe they’ll bring the “A” team. I’d come back for sure.

You were outstanding out there.. Thanks for bringing Beijing to us, It was almost like we were right there with you guys, Keep up the good work. You are definitely motivated and working hard to have a superb year... I can wait for Opening Day! - ZAIDERMAN

FOR SOMEONE WHO LIVES IN CURAÇAO IT`S GREAT TO SEE A ICON AS ANDREW DOING HIS BEST TO MAKE THE SPORT THAT WE MOST LOVE HERE ON THE ISLAND INTERNATIONAL. BY GOING TO CHINA AND GIVING THE KIDS A GLIMPS OF THE GAME,HE SHOWS THEM THAT IF MADE IT SO CAN THEY.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND WE ARE PROUD OF YOU !

BO MES SA !

SPOON REAL FROM CURAÇAO.

Chinese fans know the baseball game. Beijing has Beijing Tiger Baseball team who is famour in Chinease Baseball League.
We cheer for the foul balls just because we want to get the balls.

I went to the stadium on Sat. and Sunday. I brought with me a board saying "U are Super A.Jones " for Sunday's match. Hope you will have a good season in LA.

I thought you were going to rent a bike and ride around Beijing? What happened? Oh, that's right you'd probably get run over and or lost. You should've gone out and did more sightseeing. Afterall, you made the long journey and only had a couple of days there, why stay in the hotel room? I think I know why, but I won't tell anybody. :)

Andruw,
I'm glad you had a great time in China. I hope we get to see some pics posted of your favorite sites.

That's funny to hear about fans still learning the game over there. Something we take for granted is how accessible baseball is for us in the USA and Latin America.

What do you think of our recent Curacao addition in Atlanta? Jair Jurrjens has been impressive this Spring.

Spoon Real you should check him out because we have very few Curacao players in the MLB and it's great to see the appeal spreading!

thanks AJ! Have a great season!

Sounds like you had a great time in China! What an experience to have, where few are able to go!

I'm always a little surprised when there's a country out there that knows so little of baseball and what it means here. Baseball is an international sport, and you hit it on the head: Baseball IS universal.

We're excited for you to come to LA, be a part of our team, and love Dodgers Stadium as your home (the way we do) and not just as a visitor.

See you Opening Day!

How excited are you for this Saturday? I've been a Dodgers fan since the Lasorda era and never dreamed I'd see my Boys in Blue at the Colesium.

Hey Andruw, are you planning on getting a hit anytime soon?

You've been playing great in the field, but it's time for you to start earning that paycheck with your bat.

That's right kid the fun is over, time to get a few hits, maybe some dingers.
But you gotta relax, man.
Just make some contact, the homers will come.

Hey, leave the guy alone. You try playing baseball with that weight on your shoulders. With every fan scruntinizing your every move 11 games into the season. Its not fair, though I do expect Andruw to come out of this funk, give it a month or two. By the All-Star break, if he's not hitting at least .250 with a few dingers, then we ring the alarm. But give it some time people!

Go get em Andruw!

18 million and he shows up looking like a jelly donut. so we have to wait(weight) for him to play himself into shape? It's great to have him in center field on defense but what a rally killer so far.

It's too soon in the season to be bashing Andruw. Hey, he's been looking better the last couple of games. I just wish that fans weren't so impatient. Yes, it's frustrating but it's also a long season and it's only a couple of weeks into it. He'll be fine.

Go get them Andruw!

Hello Mr. Jones,
Right now i am watching you play vs. Braves. But thats not what im talking about now. I want to Know if you could tell your readers about m

nsaynPerformance:
.250 that's O.K.
But a few HRs by the All Star Game?
I hope at least 10

hahaha real talk.
By a few... I meant at least 10-15 by the break. Preferably more. But now he's hurt. So now what?

Andruw,
I have season tickets at the Top Deck, aisle 3, last row. Just want you know to know that we are not booing you and that if you listen closely, there are some of us that are clapping. Like Pierreeastmeetswest says, just relax and try to make contact and the HRs will come. we know you are frustrated and that you are scrutinizing your videos to see if you can find something wrong with your swing(heard it from Pepe). I will light a candle for you to start hitting. You will start getting out of that funk in Florida. Keep the faith. -Emma

What happened? What caused this tremendous production decline?

This is my favorite mlblog. The doesn't hit the entire season stops hitting, and MLB.com doesn't think its worth it too update his blog for the whole season. Love it
